שעון ה- Watch 5 החדש של וואווי מצטרף לדגם ה- Watch 5 Pro שהוצג בשנה הקודמת,
כאשר מדובר למעשה על שדרוג לדגם ה- Watch 5 מ-2024 למרות השם הזהה.
הגרסה החדשה, אותה ניתן להשיג גם עם eSIM לקישוריות סלולרית מובנית,
זמינה ב- 42 מ"מ עם מסך AMOLED בגודל 1.38 אינץ'.
הדגם ה-42 מ"מ מגיע עם גוף עשוי פלדת אל-חלד 316L או 904L , וזמין גם עם גוף מטיטניום.
הפיצ'ר המרכזי בשעון החדש הוא מערך חיישנים חדש הנקרא X-Tap, היושב במסגרת השעון
ומשלב חיישן לחץ המזהה את עוצמת לחיצת האצבע, אלקטרודת ECG מצופה זכוכית וחיישן PPG לקצה האצבע.
לפי החברה, החיישן מאפשר לבצע תשע בדיקות בריאות תוך 60 שניות בלבד, כולל קריאת HRV) שונות קצב הלב).
השעון החדש מציע גם שליטה במחוות – ניתן להחליק פעמיים או להקיש פעמיים עם האגודל והאצבע המורה
כדי לנווט באפליקציות. תכונה זו פועלת בשלושה תרחישים: כאשר התראה מצלצלת,
כאשר מתקבלת שיחה נכנסת וכאשר מושמעת מוסיקה דרך הנגן המובנה.
מבחינת חיי סוללה, דגם ה-42 מ"מ מציע עד 4.5 ימים בשימוש רגיל, 3 ימים עם תצוגה תמידית, ועד 11 ימים במצב חיסכון בסוללה.
